Pottery Wheel Course in Antalya

What we do in the pottery course

Making forms on the pottery wheel takes more time and attention than free hand-building. That is why, unlike the ceramic course, the wheel course is taught as private one-to-one lessons.

Pottery course techniques

We start by getting to know the clay and practising wedging. Then we move on to centring. After trying several centring techniques, you continue with the one that works best for you. At first you throw simple forms such as cylinders, then you widen and raise them step by step. Trimming is another important stage: the leather-hard piece is trimmed on the wheel with suitable tools and a foot ring is made.

Colours and glazes

Besides clay and basic materials, underglaze colours and a clear glaze are provided by our studio. If you would like to use ready-made glazes in other colours and effects, you can buy them yourself.

Course days and duration

Our pottery course is taught as private one-to-one lessons: once a week for 3 hours. Lessons can be scheduled on any day except Sunday, at a time that suits both of us; no group is needed. The course is open to everyone aged 15 and over. To sign up or ask a question, call us on +90 501 946 67 07 or message us on WhatsApp.
